Activate your PSCU Debit Card: Call the number on the card to activate it and set up your PIN.  Please call from the number on file with the credit union and use the ssn of the person whose name is on the card.  If you have any issues, contact us at 260-432-3433 or after hours at 888-241-2510.

Watch your mailbox for your PSCU Credit Card:  You can activate and begin using your PSCU credit card as soon as it arrives in February, then destroy your old HCFCU card. If you have any issues, contact us at 260-432-3433 or after hours at 888-241-2510.

Q: Why did the HCFCU Board of Directors approve a merge with Public Service Credit Union?

A: The Board determined that financial and economic trends were negatively affecting the long-term survivability of the Credit Union.  In order to provide members with new technology and additional products and services, they needed to choose another credit union to partner with.

Q: Why Public Service Credit Union?

A: PSCU is a financially sound financial institution that’s been proudly serving its members successfully since 1932.  As you’ll see in the financials that were sent to you, their net income and caplital exceed regulator standards. They are focused on planning for the future and set goals to ensure continued success for another 90+ years.

Q: What does Public Service CU offer that Huntington County FCU does not?

A: PSCU offers additional loan products such as mortgages, HELOCs, credit builder loans, and higher lending limits.  Additional account products include an interest-bearing checking account, youth accounts, several specialty accounts focused on saving money, plus higher dividend rates on your funds. PSCU has certified financial counselors on staff, financial education tools, and offers free credit scores in online and mobile banking. They also offer more technology including early payroll deposits, account alerts via email or text, mobile options including mobile check deposit, electronic loan closings and account openings. 

Q: Will the HCFCU branch in Huntington remain open?

A: Yes! The HCFCU office at 1885 Old US 24 E will remain open AND you’ll get access Public Service Credit Union’s two locations in Fort Wayne:

Q: Will we still see our favorite HCFCU staff?

A: Yes, the employees of Huntington County FCU will become employees of Public Service CU.

Q: What is the merger timeline?

A: Both the NCUA and DFI have approved the merger. On October 31st, HCFCU members voted and approved the merger which will take place on January 31st, 2023. The HCFCU branch will close at noon on Tuesday January 31st and reopen on February 1st at 9:00am.
